Jarid’s Kahi (Healing Touch) Massage

Kahi (pronounced Kah-he), means “oneness” in Hawaiian. Kahi is a technique of Lomi-Lomi massage that uses very light hand pressure similar to Reiki or laying on of hands. Kahi uses the focus of attention to flow energy into the body. This technique intensifies and harmonizes the body’s energy. Kahi brings one into a relaxed peaceful “aloha” state of being, which stimulates the body’s healing process. The seven principles of Kahi are: Be aware, be free, be focused, be here, be loved, be strong and be healed. Kahi helps relive pain, stress, headaches, muscle tension and promotes faster recovery from surgeries and broken bones.

Experience Wendy's Scottsdale Massage

Hawaiian Experience Day Spa in Scottsdale, AZ has just introduced another specialty massage by Wendy – The Relaxing Muscle Releaser Massage.  This massage uses warm oils, stretching, rocking, neuromuscular release, hot stones, Lomi Lomi, more….

Wendy’s Relaxing Muscle Releaser

Let’s begin this wonderful treatment by arriving at the spa fifteen minutes early if you are already a member and 20 minutes if you are not. Once you change into your robe and complete all paperwork I would suggest you make some tea and as it is steeping you take a nice warm shower to begin the loosening of muscles and tension. Then enjoy your herbal tea. This is not part of the treatment you are paying for so think of it as an extra bonus. If you prefer you could add a scrub or wrap to intensify the benefits of your upcoming massage and to nourish, detoxify, and thoroughly exfoliate the body.

Now you have arrived on the massage table relaxed, cleansed and present. I will begin your treatment with relaxing music and at light to medium pressure as I explore the different areas of concern. I will be looking for kinetic patterns leading to those areas of concern. Then through facilitated stretching, neuromuscular release and therapeutic massage I will release those areas one by one. I will be using warmed oils and creams along with some gentle rocking techniques to assist in your muscle relaxation. I will end the massage with some hot stone Lomi Lomi strokes to allow the geothermal heat and long strokes to penetrate any lasting resistance and tension.

This treatment is a 90 minute treatment in order to receive the full benefits, however, if you can only participate for an hour the hot stone and Lomi Lomi portion will be eliminated.

After you receive Wendy’s Signature Treatment you will feel relaxed and the tension in your muscles will be dissolved.

Experience Raindrop Massage Therapy at Hawaiian Experience Day Spa in Scottsdale, AZ

Pam F. just introduced her own custom specialty massage – raindrop therapy.  This treatment is great for detoxifying, the immune system, muscle tension, and relaxation.

This is an amazing detoxifying and relaxing treatment! Nine different essential oils (powerful antibacterial and antiviral) will be applied along the spine with feathering strokes to stimulate the nervous system and to feet so that these detoxifying essential oils can enter the body.

This is followed by a soothing, healing and calming massage addressing all your therapeutic needs. The oils used in Raindrop Therapy flush out toxins and kill dormant viruses and bacteria strengthening the immune system. This is very calming to the mind and body.

Experience a deep, sensual, and traditional Lomi Lomi massage

Aloha – Each of our therapists is creating their own special and unique massage or other service that only they will provide.  The first of these, and exotic Lomi Lomi massage has been introduced by Steve.  Below is Steve’s description of these unique and traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage in Scottsdale.

Steve’s Exotic Lomi Lomi Massage

Although everyone at the spa performs Lomi Lomi massages I have advanced training in the art and can perform the massage differently then what we normally provide at the spa. When I studied Lomi Lomi on Maui and brought the treatment to the spa I slightly modified our approach to the treatment to conform with the needs of most clients. While our regular Lomi Lomi massage is very traditional, my Lomi Lomi massage will include everything I have learned about this ancient practice from various sources and training.

In your special Lomi Lomi I will use deep pressure to release muscle tension (the massage will be deeper than a regular Lomi Lomi) with a special focus on breathing muscles and hip muscles. However, even though most of the massage is deeper, I will include a period of soft full body relaxing lomi strokes intermixed with the deeper work. This combination makes the deeper work more effective and will cause your entire body to relax and “let go”. I will also incorporate stretching (especially of the hips), and will kneel on the massage table to perform more of the massage than usual, including when you are face down and face up. I will play traditional Hawaiian music and will try to provide you with fantastic, sensual, experience with your treatment.

I recommend this massage for anyone who loves deep therapeutic pressure and is very comfortable with the Lomi Lomi draping and techniques. If this is your first Lomi Lomi you may wish to try a regular Lomi Lomi to make sure you are totally comfortable before moving on to this special massage. Aloha.

We are happy to announce the formation of our new sister company, Massage Elite. Massage Elite is an expansion of one of the strongest aspects of Hawaiian Experience Day Spa in Scottsdale – the quality of our massage therapy.  We see many clients from around the country at our Scottsdale day spa when they visit us during vacation, business trips, etc.  These out of town clients are often very impressed with the quality of our massage therapists and ask us to refer them to a massage therapist in their area.  Often these clients have visited their local Massage Envy or other chain massage clinic but did not receive the same results they got from a single visit to our day spa.

Unfortunately, with very few exceptions we do not know who the quality day spas and massage therapists are in other areas, so we are unable to make any recommendations.  Well all of that is going to change with Massage Elite.

Massage Elite will be a network of the best day spas, massage practices, and massage therapists in the nation. Each new Massage Elite will be thoroughly screened by us to ensure they meet our experience, training, and quality standards before they will be permitted to join our team.  Once they do join every Massage Elite will accept our membership plan and gift cards, and each Massage Elite will use our online appointment booking software. That means you will be able to make an appointment with any Massage Elite the same way you make online appointments with us now.  You will be assured of quality and consistency wherever you visit and you will be able to use your membership credit and discounts at any Massage Elite location.

Massage Elites will not all be Hawaiian Experience Spas. In fact, most will not. They will be independently owned day spas, massage practices, and even individual massage therapists who provide out call or in home massage on their own. Each Massage Elite will have its own name, own character, and will offer its own list of treatments. Every Massage Elite will provide medical massage therapy, advanced therapeutic massage, and relaxation massages but other then that they are free to develop their own unique treatment menu.  This will provide clients a great deal of variety.

This change does not affect Hawaiian Experience Spa clients or members in any way, except that over the coming year they will have more options of quality places to visit.

Lypossage in Scottdale: A non invasive cellulite treatment

Hawaiian Experience Spa in Scottsdale is now providing Lypossage.  Lypossage is a nonsurgical cellulite treatment perfect for anyone wondering how to get rid of cellulite without surgery. Lypossage provides anti aging, detoxifying, and body contouring with measureable results. The goal is to improve circulation, detoxify the body, firm the skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite. Results vary, however you can expect to lose several inches up to twenty inches over the course of this Lypossage treatment. The technique includes deep tissue massage and lymphatic drainage. Aloha – Hawaiian Experience Spa in Scottsdale is happy to announce that our good friends, Tom Cochran and Donna Jason of Sacred Lomi, will be providing lomi lomi massage training in Tempe, Arizona just prior to the 2010 Aloha Festival in March.  The four day course will teach you both the physical and spiritual aspects of this ancient massage and is highly recommended by Steve and Cathy Ibach who attended Tom’s training on Maui about a year before opening Hawaiian Experience Day Spa.
